"Don't cry TOO much tonight, Mr. Confident." That was the last thing I said to a student to finish gently mocking him for not being quite as badass as he'd like to believe that he is.As I walked away, I slipped in some mud and almost fell. I caught myself, but not before Mr. Confident and his friends saw.
He actually fell on the ground, he was laughing so hard.
When he managed to get up again, I shrugged, laughing too. Because that's what I get for making fun of him. Total karmic payback.
A good lesson for us both.
